Pests of peas in home gardens: peppercorn and pea pepper

We introduce two pea pests, which can cause a lot of inconvenience to gardeners in a home garden. The article also reveals that the peas are not insidious and who are the thrips.

PEPPER STRIP (KAKOTHRIPS ROBUSTUS)

APPEARANCE:

Adult thrips are small (1-1.5 mm), dark brown, oblong-body pests, larvae of similar size but yellow in color.
In Hungary, it is a common species, its herbaceous plants besides wild butterfly flowers, and green peas.

KÁRKÉPE:

Larvae and adult animals also suck the plant's moist. The shoot of the attacked pea plant bends, distorts and stops in growth. The flower also shrinks and fades. If the peas are attacked at the beginning of the development, the crop does not develop well, but remains small and deformed. If you attack adult peas, you can get away with the little suckers - much, white, tiny dots on the crop, but the peas can stay relatively healthy.

LIFE HISTORY:

One generation per year develops. It is full of nymph in the soil, and then the adult insect appears at the end of May - early June. Eggs are placed in the flower on the stalk of the stamen, and in a week's time they can see the eyes. If they can damage the flower, they suck the pods of the pea.
Early seeding with peas and crop rotation can eliminate their higher rate of accumulation, but if large amounts of damage occur, then we can protect against phosphoric acid ester after flowering of the pea.

PEAS (LASPEYRESIA NIGRICANA) OR ACACIA(ETIELLA ZINCKENELLA)

The two major pests of the pests are pests of moths.
The butterflies appear at the flowering of the pea and the fragrance of the flower splashes them on the herb, The eggs are placed on the flower petals or on the start of the fruit, from which the little caterpillar grows on the wall of the vagina and cuts out the tender seeds, leaving a fine cloth and faeces. After the caterpillars are fully developed and well packed, they leave the peas and migrate to the top layer of the soil, where they expect the next year to be filled with dense woven cocoon.
Predictable occurrence by sexferomonal trap
It is recommended to place the pheromone trap over the top of the pea foliage (usually 1-1.2 m) at the end of April. According to English experience, there is no need for chemical protection in green peas if the two-day peppercorn catch does not exceed five to seven (Source: Chalomon ). If there is more moths in the trap, then we can protect against chitin synthesis by mass lay and larvae.
